2nd child in SPH but the experience really gone from good to bad. After birth, we were left more than 6 hours without any updates and only 10 hours later do we get to know what's the next steps and whether we can be discharged....in fact we were kept uninformed on procedures at all. Understand the ward is busy but surely its the hospital responsibility to ensure patient are duly informed? I had no bassinet for baby until 5-6 hours after birth because no one bothered to check. Our feedback about damaged call system in from was also not heeded. Really felt discriminated.
Individual care was 1st class and I can think of no way to improve it. What could be improved upon however is communication about discharge. With me it was OK, but I witnessed no distress with and other patients whose plan were changed several times and the elderly find that very hard to deal with. Perhaps it would be better to wait until things are settled before telling the patient.
I was looked after well by the girls who treated me well.
Everything -The nursing, care, the food, the sympathy when needed. In my opinion nothing could be better except the number of staff, it should be doubled! I am so proud to be British with an NHS. As we have you all much appreciation by all my family. I -:)
The staff of Falcon ward were outstanding in everything they do. It really amazed me how they performed in their duties. And how tireless they were on their long shifts. They are really not paid enough wages.
Friendly staff. Fast service. Helpful. Great knowledge. Fast care and concern.
The nurses are very caring and helpful making you feel very comfortable. Very attentive and always are on call, as well as the doctors and care staff.
